Is Perivale Farm Cottage suitable for children?
Most definitely! We have renovated the holiday cottage for couples or families. Fully self contained, the delightful cottage also has a baby cot and children under 15 stay free! The private cottage grounds are fully fenced and the cottage is very child-friendly, including a fireguard for the indoor fire place.
How many bedrooms does the cottage have?
The cottage has 1 bedroom with a Queen size bed, however there are two double pull-out sofa beds in the living area and a baby cot is also available.
Can we bring our pets to stay?
Unfortunately we cannot allow you to bring your pet(s) as the cottage is located within our working dairy farm. However we do have sheep, goats, pet dogs, cows, pigs and rabbits on the farm that your children (or you) can view and pat.
How far is the holiday cottage from Franz Josef Village and the Glacier?
 Perivale Farm Cottage is handily located only a 5 minute drive South of Franz Josef Village and only 10 minutes from Franz Josef Glacier. Fox Glacier is 25 minutes away, as is Okarito and Whataroa.
Do you offer a breakfast or meal service?
Because the cottage accommodation is so close to Franz Josef Village and it’s range of cafes, takeaways and restaurants we don’t offer meals. The cottage has a newly renovated kitchen with full cooking and kitchen facilities, so you can grab your supplies from the local supermarket and prepare your own meals if required. When possible, we also provide complimentary farm fresh eggs.
How can I check cottage accommodation availability and rates?
You will need to contact our reservation team via our Contact Us page or by completing the online Request a Quotation form. We will contact you within 24 hours to advise of availability and rates.
We were planning on only staying a couple of nights in Franz Josef is this long enough?
Franz Josef offers so much for visitors that to really appreciate the best of the area we recommend a minimum stay of at least 2 nights. This will give you plenty of time to take a walk or hike on Franz Josef Glacier, especially if weather doesn’t permit on a certain day, along with the huge selection of other activities, including off-road buggies, quad bike tours, horse riding, lagoon or lake kayaking, lake tours, White Heron tours, Hukawai Ice Centre, 4WD rides, golf, sky diving, ice climbing, lake walks, fishing and much, much more!
Is the cottage smoke-free?
Yes, however if you are a smoker you can smoke outside.
Can you assist with my local tour bookings?
 We are always happy to advise on local activities and attractions and the cottage has plenty of brochures and books about the area so you can arrange your activities.
How often will the cottage be serviced?
Your accommodation will be professionally cleaned and ready for your arrival on the first day. All linen is supplied as well as cleaning equipment. You also have your own laundry facilities (with complimentary washing powder) and a foldaway clothes airer.
Is it safe to use my credit card online?
Yes. We treat the security of our guest’s information very seriously. To ensure your security, all credit card transactions are secured by SSL, which encrypts the credit card number so as to make it unavailable to any other party.
What is your Reservation Policy?
Reservations will only be accepted or guaranteed when a 50% deposit is paid via a valid credit card (credit card number, cardholders name and card expiry date to be supplied at the time of reservation).
What is your Cancellation Policy?
We require 20 days notice of cancellation that applies to the full term of your reservation. If you have to cancel at short notice or when guests fail to arrive, every endeavour will be made to re-let your booking, however if we are unsuccessful then you will be responsible for the balance owing.
How can I amend or cancel my booking?
Should you wish to amend or cancel your existing booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Simply go to the Contact Us page, which provides many options for contacting us.
Which credit card types do you accept?
We only accept Visa and MasterCard.
What about property or chattel damage?
 Our cottage has been recently renovated and fully furnished. We do appreciate that wear and tear does occur, however any other damage to the property or chattels caused by guests will be charged to the guest who made the booking. Should you find anything damaged prior to your stay, please advise us immediately. Failure to do so will deem you to be totally responsible for the condition of the property on departure.
